In conjunction with the Tri County North Local School District the Village of Lewisburg was able to reach an agreement that resulted in a ground breaking ceremony this week that will create a new 35,000 sq foot addition to D&M Tool and help aid in the retention of 30 jobs in Lewisburg. Without the cooperation of Mr. Derringer and the School Board this would not have been possible and we appreciate them working with us on this project. -Donny Wright
The Village of Lewisburg was recently awarded a 1.3 million dollar, thirty year interest free loan for improvements to our Wastewater Treatment facility, located adjacent to the Village Park.
The plant was originally constructed in the early 1940’s and then reconstructed in 1987. Over a period of years the Ohio EPA has instituted new rules and regulations and we need to comply, thus the reason for the improvements.
The Community Association is a Board of 11 men and women who's goal is to raise money to Benefit the Community. Our main project's are Derbydays Fireworks, Christmas lights in the Park, and Cody Holp complex. The Community Association this year had many successful projects. We started out with a Chili cook off,and a garden walk. During the summer we had two Steak frys an auction and brought the Largest Circus under the Big Top to our town. We held Movies in the Park ever month starting in June and finishing up on October 27th. Which is also the Date of our October Festival. Our second goal is to give the members of the Community things to do in town. We feel our Movies, the Circus, and The October Festival have helped accomplish that goal.
