Water Rate Increases

Recently, the Village of Lewisburg’s Water Treatment Facility underwent a major renovation to assure the delivery of the highest quality of water and to meet or exceed the water quality standards mandated by the Ohio EPA. The Water Treatment capital improvement project associated with the cost to produce, deliver and treat water has found it necessary for Village Council to adjust water rates to efficiently manage the Water Department.

On June 17, 2010 the Lewisburg Village Council passed ordinance 2010-09 increasing the water rates.  This letter is to inform you of the new rate structure and rates as outlined below that will be effective with your August 1, 2010 consumption:

New Water Rates:
Base Rate or minimum charge for the first 3,000 gallons will be $27.00 per month.
Over 3,000 gallons per month will be charged $2.55 per thousand gallons.

Senior Discount:
The Village of Lewisburg currently offers a monthly discount of 10% to our senior citizens.  PLEASE CONTACT THE VILLAGE OFFICES IF YOU ARE 62 YEARS OR OLDER AND NOT RECEIVING THE DISCOUNT.

Sewer Rates and Refuse Rates:
The sewer and refuse rates will remain the same; therefore, a monthly water, sewer and refuse bill without excess water usage will be $58.00.

Outside Village customers:
If you are located outside of the Village limits, rates are calculated at 200% times the Village rates listed above.

For your reference, we are enclosing the 2010 Annual Water Rate Survey prepared by the City of Oakwood that compares the Village of Lewisburg with other communities relating to water rates.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the Village Offices at 962-4377 if you need additional information.
